Visit the WARF This Fall
Swimming isn’t just for summertime, at least not if you’re lucky enough to live in Warrenton. You can swim all year long at the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility (WARF). Stop by the WARF this fall for some fun with your family and friends.
The WARF is really a one-of-a-kind complex. It has a competition pool, leisure pool with a water slide, lazy river, and a therapeutic spa. It even has a fitness center.
If you’re visiting the WARF with small children, follow some tips to keep the kids safe in the water.
Keep Young Kids Within a Hand’s Reach
As much as you might want to hide in the back of the WARF and read a book, you need to keep small kids within a hand’s reach at all times. Something can happen in an instant, and you need to be able to react quickly. It’s best to get in the water with the child, but if that’s not possible, make sure he or she stays near the edge of the water. Then, you will need to set up camp by the edge of the pool.
Make the Kids Take a Break
You should take your kids out of the water every hour and have them take a break. They should go to the restroom and drink some water during the break. Then, after the break, they can go back in for another hour. This is a great way to check on your kids and make sure everything is okay, and it will also allow them to stay hydrated.
Use Water Shoes for Sensitive Feet
The WARF is only 10 years old and a very nice facility. However, some kids have sensitive feet, so it will hurt them to walk around it. If your child falls into that category, pick up some water shoes. These shoes work on land and water, so your kid can get in and out of the water without any worries.
Change Out of Swimming Gear Immediately
Make sure your kids change out of their wet clothes and dry off before going out in the cool air. Even in the South, it can still get cool in Warrenton during the fall, and you don’t want to end up with sick kids on your hands.
You’re going to have a great time at the WARF, but what about when you want to go even farther out for some fun? You’ll want wheels that can take you everywhere you want to go, and Warrenton Toyota in Warrenton, Virginia, can help. Let us help you pick out the perfect travel companion for all of your adventures.
