Toyota Sponsors New Website to Help Heroes Find Jobs

Toyota Sponsors New Website to Help Heroes Find JobsToyota has come together with Hiring Our Heroes and Medal of Honor Recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer to introduce the Personal Branding Resume Engine. Created for veterans and transitioning servicemembers, this next-generation tool goes beyond what a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) translator would do to get an all-encompassing view of one’s military experience. This advanced tool covers awards, deployments, and military schooling, and puts them into civilian terms to help employers further understand the valuable skills servicemembers have to offer. This technology has been tested and reviewed by human resources recruiters at small businesses as well as Fortune 500 companies and by veterans and transitioning servicemembers themselves. It’s truly unlike any other tool available.

Toyota is proud to partner up with Hiring Our Heroes to sponsor the Personal Branding Resume Engine. Hiring Our Heroes is a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which utilizes the their vast network of state and local chambers as well as partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Launched in March 2011 as a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning servicemembers, and military spouses find meaningful employment; Hiring Our Heroes has hosted more than 560 hiring fairs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. As of March 31, 2013, over 20,000 veterans and military spouses have successfully obtained jobs thanks to the program.

The Personal Branding Resume Engine tool arose out of the wish to develop digital resources to compliment Hiring Our Heroes’ other services. In addition to translating service experience into a strong resume, veterans will also have access to a job search tool to find opportunities in the fastest growing job markets and booming industries. These invaluable resourses have been integrated into the employment workshops hosted by Hiring Our Heroes. It is their hope that veterans, transitioning servicemembers, and military spouses will have the ability to use these resources to virtually connect with employers regardless of location, which Toyota strongly supports.
