There’s a reason why the
Toyota Corolla has been one of the top-selling cars in the world for years. Generations of drivers have relied on the compact car for its unrivaled efficiency, dependability, safety, and convenience. For 2020, Toyota moves the Corolla’s legacy forward with a comprehensive redesign, updating its styling, expanding its capabilities, and equipping it with more technology than ever before. Even with all its upgrades, the Corolla still comes with an unbeatable value.
The 2020 Corolla offers two lively powertrain options that both promise responsible gas mileage while delivering plenty of energy for city and interstate travel. It also comes with a variety of convenient infotainment
options, including fresh standard features like smartphone connectivity. Toyota has also equipped the 2020 Corolla with smart safety systems to keep you and your passengers out of harm’s way.
The 2020 Corolla sedan comes in five trim levels:
L
LE
SE
XLE
XSE
The starting L trim comes with standard features like a voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, cloth upholstery, automatic emergency braking, and Wi-Fi hotspot. The LE builds on the amenities with keyless entry, automatic climate control, an enhanced infotainment system with an intuitive touchscreen, and more.
The SE features an upgraded engine running with a continuously variable automatic transmission. It also sports a unique exterior, leather-wrapped steering wheel, plus a sport driving mode.
The XLE sports leatherette seating, proximity keyless entry, HD Radio, and a moonroof. You can also upgrade the trim with available features like ambient lighting, navigation, and JBL premium sound.
If you choose the XSE, you’ll find the same features as the XLE, plus a sporty 169-horsepower 4-cylinder engine. Toyota also offers a hatchback Corolla, which comes in the SE and XSE trims.

Interior Review of the 2020 Toyota Corolla
The redesigned Corolla sports a contemporary interior with comfortable seating and quality materials throughout. As many as five people can sit in the cabin, and both rows offer sufficient support for long drives. The standard cloth upholstery can be substituted with leatherette, and you can also opt for other available comfort features like automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Two full sets of LATCH car seat connectors ensure that your youngest passengers can ride in the back safe and sound.
The car’s storage capacity depends on the body style you choose. The sedan comes with a 13-cubic-foot trunk, and the hatchback has 17.8 cubic feet available behind its rear seats. If you fold the hatchback’s back row, you’ll expand its storage capacity to 23.3 cubic feet.

Performance of the 2020 Toyota Corolla
The Corolla received a new suspension system as part of its redesign, and it now demonstrates improved handling around corners and curves. It also negotiates bumps in the road without jostling its passengers. The engine under the hood depends on the trim you want, with the base model running on a 139-horsepower 4-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. In the SE and XSE trims, you’ll find a 169-horsepower 4-cylinder which can come with either the automatic CVT or an optional six-speed manual transmission. You can expect excellent gas mileage and long drives between fill-ups with either option.
