The beef brisket is smoked for up to 18 hours and cut when you order it, while the pulled pork is smoked over locally sourced hickory wood until its fall-apart tender. The burnt ends come slathered in sauce, while the pulled chicken is served with the restaurant’s signature Shawn’s Smokehouse Sweet & Sassy sauce. A soft potato roll serves as the bun, which each sandwich comes with a coleslaw topper on the side. Other side options include the potato salad with a tangy mayonnaise dressing, baked beans in the Sweet & Sassy sauce, freshly baked cornbread, mac and cheese, and French fries tossed in a house-made barbecue rub.

Hours may change, but from Tuesday to Saturday, it opens at 11 a.m. on Sunday, it opens at noon. The restaurant closes at 8 p.m. each day, and is closed all day on Monday. There is also another Shawn’s location in Culpeper.
