Get Ready for Christmas with a Holiday Sing-Along

Christmas

What is one of the most iconic parts of the Christmas season? Why, the songs of course. Every year, we hear our favorite holiday tunes played on the radio, in stores, and in our homes, and yet somehow we never seem to grow tired of them. Perhaps it’s this tradition that contributes to the magical nostalgia of Christmastime.

Show your knowledge of Christmas tunes, and start a new tradition with your family by attending the 3rd Annual Holiday Sing-Along at the Warrenton Community Center.

Holiday Sing-Along

Right in time for Christmas, the Warrenton Community Center is hosting its annual sing-along. Come on Saturday, Dec. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to noon to experience a day of Christmas cheer. This kid-friendly event includes festive crafts, cookie decorating, a visit from Santa, and much more. If you or your child has food allergies, there will be an allergy-free decorating option available as well.

At 11 a.m., attendees will join together to sing and dance to some of your favorite holiday songs. So, practice up and wear something you can move in!

Other Christmas Traditions

Perhaps this is the first family tradition you’ve participated in, or maybe you already have many more. Either way, it’s wonderful to have traditions that your family can look forward to year after year. In fact, many traditions are even more meaningful because they have been passed down from generation to generation. Even if there aren’t any in your family right now, you can be the one to start them. Imagine how much joy a holiday tradition can bring your family for years to come. Here are a few ideas when it comes to unique holiday traditions your family will love.

The One-Gift Clause

This is a tradition that some may already know. It’s extra exciting for children, but can be just as much fun for adults, too. Every year on Christmas Eve, the members of the family are allowed to open one gift early, of their choosing. This “sanctioned breaking of the rules” is thrilling for kids and lets the magic of Christmas start just a little bit earlier. If you’re worried about your kids opening their biggest present too early, you can always hide that one away until after they’ve selected another.

The Underwear Fairy

Getting underwear for Christmas has a bit of a stigma about it. Turn a practical gift into something magical with the Underwear Fairy. Each year, the Underwear Fairy wraps an undergarment in a small package and hides it in the Christmas tree. Then, members of the family have to search for the fairy’s gift in the tree that has their name on it. Who knew clothes could be so fun?
